ABC is set to give us a fall viewing schedule of nostalgia and fun. From Desperate Housewives to Charlie’s Angels they are going to give us a touch of what made them jump to 1st place in the rankings. ABC’s plan is to keep the second place spot they managed to attain in the last seven weeks of the season.
Google turned the search engine into a social platform Wednesday, unveiling the long anticipated feature +1(pronouced plus one). Social signals pulled from pulled from profiles and connections made through Google Buzz, Gmail and other sites are increasing the usefulness of conncections. Searchers have the ability to share recommendations on products and services directly from search engine results or ads.
The symbol +1 will begin appearing in Google’s search results. Clicking on +1 on a web page or ad will allow people to share content. Those who want to use the tool need to create a Google profile or upgrade their current one. The profile allows people to see all the +1′s in one place and delete those no longer recommended.
Adding the +1 button on web sites could draw more site visitors because friends will see personalized recommendations on search results and ads. The button is available from Google Webmaster Central.
No changes to campaigns are required to add the button. Advertisers will see the button appear in the coming weeks. The button will initially appear for English searches only. Advertisers will be able to see how many +1′s their search ads get by viewing the Dimensions tab in Adwords.
While CBS and Turner are posting a 24% increase in ratings from a year ago, they jointly operate digital distribution which has shown a 22% increase in traffic for online and mobile consumption. Last Thursday, March Madness On Demand app saw a 22% jump to 7.6 million total visits for both online and mobile app viewing for the 16 games combined.
With the uncertain economy, advertising costs are trending down.
